Caixa releases new batch of PIS/Pasep fund payments

Caixa Econômica Federal has begun releasing a new batch of payments from the former PIS/Pasep fund. This installment is intended for workers and public servants who requested reimbursement by August 31.

The eligible group includes those who worked with a formal contract or served as public employees between 1971 and 1988. The average payment amount ranges between R$ 2.8 thousand and R$ 2.9 thousand, depending on the individual's service period and historical salary. This benefit refers to quotas from an old fund that was extinct as of 2020 and is distinct from the annual PIS/Pasep salary bonus.

Individuals can check for available balances via the Repis Cidadão portal using a Gov.br account (silver or gold levels) or through the FGTS application. Requests can be made digitally through the FGTS app or in person at a Caixa branch. In cases of death, legal heirs or dependents may also claim the funds by presenting required documentation. If funds are not claimed by the established deadline, they will be incorporated into the National Treasury.
