Brazil PIS/Pasep benefit distributions

The Brazilian government concluded the final round of PIS/Pasep salary bonus payments for the 2026 calendar year in August. This installment targeted workers born in November and December, injecting R$ 5.2 billion into the economy. While the payment schedule for these bonuses is complete, Caixa Econômica Federal reported that approximately R$ 69.3 million remained uncollected by over 2 million workers, who have until December 30, 2026, to withdraw the funds.

For the 2026 cycle, the Ministry of Labor and Employment formalized the release of resources for approximately 26.9 million workers, totaling an estimated R$ 33.5 billion. Eligibility requires at least five years of system registration, a minimum of 30 days of work during 2024, and an average monthly income of up to R$ 2,765.93. A recent fiscal reorganization has changed how the income limit is adjusted; it no longer follows minimum wage evolution but is instead adjusted exclusively by inflation (IPCA) to limit government spending, a change that will gradually restrict access for certain income brackets through 2035.

Following the bonus cycle, the Ministry of Finance established a schedule for PIS/Pasep reimbursement payments. For individuals who submitted requests by August 31, 2026, deposits are scheduled for September 25, 2026. These reimbursements are for workers with available balances from former funds, including private sector employees and public servants with employment ties between 1971 and 1988. In the event of a holder's death, heirs may also file requests. Inquiries regarding values and requests can be conducted online via mobile devices or computers.
