Brazil firefighters extinguish vegetation fires in Carmolândia and Confresa

In Carmolândia, Tocantins, municipal brigades and civil defense quickly contained a vegetation fire that started after an unauthorized burn on July 6. Seven responders, a water truck and foam extinguishers worked from 12:20 p.m. until the blaze was fully out at about 4 p.m., preventing damage to nearby homes, power lines and the environment. No injuries or property losses were reported.

A separate high‑intensity vegetation fire erupted on July 7 in Confresa, Mato Grosso. The Military Firefighters Corps responded to a call at 7:25 p.m., deploying hoses, foam and a thorough “rescaldo” (soil soaking) to extinguish the blaze on a vacant lot near residential areas. The operation concluded without civilian casualties or structural damage, and authorities warned of heightened fire risk during the regional dry season.
