Brazil government expands free digital TV, provides antennas to 28,000 families in Goiás

The Ministry of Communications in Brazil has authorized 1,132 new free digital TV retransmission channels for 2023‑2025, aiming to eliminate signal gaps in remote municipalities and offer high‑definition public channels without cost to viewers. The rollout is part of the broader "Brasil Antenado" program, which also supplies free digital TV antennas and installation services to low‑income households.

In the state of Goiás, about 28,000 families enrolled in the CadÚnico social register are eligible to receive a digital antenna kit at zero cost. Applications must be submitted by 13 June via the program’s website or a toll‑free number. The initiative is managed by the non‑profit Entity Administradora da Faixa (EAF) under the direction of the Ministry of Communications.

Minister Frederico de Siqueira Filho said, “Estamos ampliando o alcance da TV aberta no Brasil e garantindo que novos canais cheguem a locais onde antes não havia cobertura adequada.” The expansion is expected to benefit roughly one million people across new municipalities, providing access to channels such as TV Brasil, Canal Gov, and educational and health programming.
