Brazil hosts major architecture exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília
A modernist residence on Rua Osório Duque Estrada in Rio’s Gávea neighbourhood, designed in the 1960s by American architect Charles Bosworth, will be open to the public from 1 October to 15 November as the venue for the 23rd edition of the Morar Mais design show. The 1,600 m² house, valued at roughly R$20 million, features 43 curated spaces and is also offered for sale, with a potential rental price of about R$50 thousand per month.
Meanwhile, the Espaço Oscar Niemeyer in Brasília is presenting the exhibition “Niemeyer por Niemeyer,” which runs until 2 September. Curated by the architect’s grandson Kadu Niemeyer, the show displays original photographs, maquettes and sketches that trace Oscar Niemeyer’s career. Admission is free, with opening hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
