Brazil modernist architecture exhibitions

In late July 2026 Brazil highlighted its modernist heritage through two related news items. The first announced that a 1960s modernist residence in Rio’s Gávea neighbourhood, designed by American architect Charles Bosworth, would open to the public from 1 October to 15 November as part of the 23rd Morar Mais design show. Simultaneously, Brasília’s Espaço Oscar Niemeyer hosted the “Niemeyer por Niemeyer” exhibition, curated by the architect’s grandson and featuring original photographs, maquettes and sketches, with free admission through early September.
