Porto Alegre's Expoagas 2026 set to generate over R$800 million in business

The 43rd Convenção Gaúcha de Supermercados – Expoagas will take place in Porto Alegre from 18 to 20 August 2026 at the Centro de Eventos Fiergs. For the first time the fair will occupy a new 7,000 m² area behind the venue, expanding its exhibition space by 63 % and allowing a record number of exhibitors. Organised by the Associação Gaúcha de Supermercados (Agas), the event expects 610 exhibitors, about 76 % of them from Rio Grande do Sul, and will introduce a sector‑based layout that groups stands by product categories such as fresh produce, beverages, bakery, equipment and technology.

Agas president Lindonor Peruzzo Junior said the supermarket sector is a major engine of the state economy, supplying millions of families and creating thousands of jobs. He noted that Expoagas is projected to move more than R$800 million in business over the three‑day fair, supported by an investment of roughly R$2.5 million in the new infrastructure. The expanded format aims to improve visitor circulation, increase networking opportunities and strengthen the regional supply chain.
