Brazil: MEC and Inep announce updates for national exams

The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) have announced several developments regarding national examinations.

Inep released the preliminary answer key for the 2026 Enamed reapplication, which was conducted for medical students affected by logistical issues or infectious diseases. Candidates may now submit appeals against the results until October 22.

Additionally, MEC has implemented the National System for the Evaluation of Professional and Technological Education (Sinaept). This system aims to assess the quality of professional and technological courses through five dimensions, including student performance and alignment with labor market demands. The implementation will be gradual, prioritizing technical secondary education.

Regarding the Enem 2026, official data shows over 5 million confirmed registrations, with women representing nearly 64% of participants. Preparatory initiatives are also underway, including free live review sessions in Mato Grosso do Sul and large-scale preparatory workshops in Tocantins and São Paulo to assist students in the final stages of study.
