Brazil inaugurates new basic health units in São Paulo and Pará de Minas

New basic health units (UBS) have been inaugurated in different regions of Brazil to expand primary care services.

In São Paulo, the Jardim Joana D’Arc unit opened in the Jaçanã district. The facility covers 1,196 square meters and represents an investment of R$ 13.9 million. It is equipped with nine consultation rooms, a dental clinic, a pharmacy, and spaces for vaccination and emergency care. The unit has the capacity to perform over 5,800 monthly services and operates with eight family health teams.

In Pará de Minas, the Guilherme Rodrigues dos Santos unit has moved into its own dedicated building after a 23-year wait. The new 411-square-meter facility, built with an investment exceeding R$ 1.8 million, replaces previously rented and adapted spaces. The unit serves approximately 3,500 residents from the JK, Esplanada, Ozanan, and São Vicente de Paulo neighborhoods.
