Brazil inaugurates specialized rehabilitation center in São José dos Campos

Brazilian Health Minister Alexandre Padilha visited São Paulo to inaugurate the Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER III) in São José dos Campos. The facility is designed to serve 67,300 people with disabilities through the Unified Health System (SUS), providing physical, intellectual, and auditory assistance. The center will serve approximately 750 patients per month and includes services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and nutrition.

The construction of the CER III was supported by a R$ 7.5 million investment from the Ministry of Health, with an additional R$ 1.5 million allocated for equipment. The center will also support municipalities including Jambeiro, Paraibuna, and Monteiro Lobato.

Additionally, Padilha visited the Centro Infantil Boldrini in Campinas to inspect new radiotherapy services for children and adolescents with cancer. The facility utilizes a modern linear accelerator acquired by the Ministry of Health to provide faster treatment sessions and reduce waiting times for oncological patients.
