Pernambuco invests in hospital infrastructure and student welfare

The Government of Pernambuco is implementing several major healthcare and social initiatives across the state. Significant investments are being directed toward hospital infrastructure, including over R$ 180 million for the modernization and expansion of the Hospital da Restauração in Recife. This project includes renovations to the ICU, pediatric emergency services, and various wards to improve working conditions and patient care.

Additionally, more than R$ 17.5 million has been invested in the requalification of the Hospital Geral de Areias, focusing on dentistry, imaging centers, and pediatric emergency services. New digital X-ray equipment and advanced ultrasound technology are being integrated to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

In a social initiative, the state has launched its first hospital-based high school classroom at the Hospital Universitário Oswaldo Cruz. This program, a partnership between the State Secretariat of Education, the University of Pernambuco, and the GAC, allows students undergoing oncological treatment to continue their studies, helping to maintain their educational and social ties during prolonged hospitalizations.
