Brazil Justice Ministry issues missing‑persons guide and conducts security crisis course
Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) released three new publications to improve the national policy for locating missing persons, including a handbook for police and municipal guards, a guide for state authorities, and a diagnostic on unidentified deceased individuals. The materials aim to standardise procedures and support families, with input from the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the United Nations Development Programme.
Separately, the MJSP held the fifth edition of its Crisis Management in Urban Security course, training officials from federal, state and municipal security forces on modern criminal tactics, risk analysis, and emergency response. The program, run by the Integrated Operations and Intelligence Directorate and the Education and Research Directorate of the National Public Security Secretariat, seeks to enhance coordination and preparedness across Brazil's law‑enforcement agencies.
