Desenrola Adimplentes launches new credit lines in Brazil
The Brazilian government has launched Desenrola Adimplentes, a new phase of the Desenrola program designed to expand credit access for individuals who maintain their financial obligations on time. The initiative features three primary pillars: a credit line for informal workers to replace high-interest loans with rates up to 1.99% per month for amounts up to R$ 15,000; the Fies Empreendedor line for students and former students with regular Fies payments, offering financing up to R$ 80,000 for individuals and R$ 180,000 for legal entities; and a provision allowing formal workers to use their FGTS balance as collateral for private payroll loans.
Finance Minister Dario Durigan stated that the program aims to reward those who pay their bills on time. Initially, Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil will provide the credit lines, with operations funded by a combination of public resources (70%) and private bank capital (30%).
The Ministry of Finance has issued a warning regarding fraudulent advertisements and phishing attempts using fake links or SMS to mimic the program. Official renegotiations must be conducted exclusively through financial institutions.
