PGFN launches debt renegotiation for MEIs and FGTS debtors
The Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional (PGFN) has launched new programs to facilitate the renegotiation of tax debts for micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs) and employers.
Under the ‘Desenrola MEI Pequeno Valor’ modality, individual micro-entrepreneurs with debts up to five minimum wages (approximately R$ 8,105) can apply for a 50% discount on the remaining balance after a 5% down payment. This balance can be paid in up to 55 installments. The deadline for this modality is January 2027. Additionally, the traditional ‘Desenrola MEI’ program, which covers debts up to R$ 20,000, has been extended until January 29, 2027, offering discounts of up to 100% on interest, fines, and legal charges.
For employers, a new notice allows for the renegotiation of FGTS (Severance Indemnity Fund) and social contribution debts of up to R$ 45 million. This program, active from October 15, 2026, to January 29, 2027, offers various installment options and discounts based on the debtor's payment capacity. Discounts apply to interest and fines, but not to amounts owed directly to workers.
