Brazil launches doctoral and special‑student admissions for Amazon research institute and UFAL

The National Institute of Amazonian Research (Inpa/MCTI) announced its 2026 doctoral program in Agriculture in the Humid Tropics, offering four PhD positions. Applications are open from 22 June to 31 July, with an R$80 fee (exemptions possible). Candidates must hold a master's degree and meet publication, language, and project‑defense criteria across four selection stages, with results due 24 August.

The Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) opened enrollment for special‑student and related‑domain slots in its Social Anthropology master's program. Applications close on 26 July via the Sigaa system. Selected students will attend two limited‑capacity courses on audiovisual techniques and ritual performance from early August to early November, with enrollment confirmed by 31 July.
