Brazil launches free entrepreneurship and capoeira programs for women

The "Elas no Comando" project in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, opened registration for 200 free spots that provide three months of training, mentorship and business‑management lessons to women who want to start, formalise or grow a small enterprise. Applicants must be 18 or older and residents of Nova Iguaçu; the programme runs in the evenings with five classes per month.

Separately, the "Mulheres Fortes" initiative announced free capoeira workshops in the Riacho Fundo district of Brasília. The sessions, held on 18‑19 and 25 July and led by master capoeiristas Arara and Lilu, are open to the community and aim to strengthen female leadership through popular culture. Live streams and ancillary activities such as debates on traditional dances are also part of the schedule.
