Brazil launches municipal influenza and general vaccination drives in Marília and Maranhão

The Associação Comercial e de Inovação de Marília (Acim) is supporting a municipal influenza vaccination campaign in the city centre of Marília from 29 June to 3 July. The UniAcim health unit will serve as the vaccination post, offering free shots to anyone aged six months and older who presents identification and a vaccination card. The campaign includes community activities such as the Zé Gotinha mascot, balloon distribution for children, and health guidance from Acim president Carlos Francisco Bitencourt Jorge.

In the state of Maranhão, the Fundação de Atendimento Socioeducativo (FASE/MA) has begun a broader vaccination programme aimed at its staff and the wider socio‑educational community. The first sites open on 22 June at the administrative headquarters on Rua das Crioulas and on 23 June at the Centro Socioeducativo de Internação Provisória Canaã, with additional centres scheduled throughout July. The effort seeks to protect workers, adolescents and residents from vaccine‑preventable diseases and to promote a safer, healthier environment.
