Brazil launches regional vaccination campaigns to boost immunization
Health authorities in Brazil are launching targeted vaccination initiatives to improve immunization coverage. In the state of São Paulo, the State Health Secretariat is providing free vaccinations at the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida. This strategic action aims to reach the high volume of pilgrims during the national holiday, offering vaccines against yellow fever, influenza, and the triple viral vaccine (measles, mumps, and rubella). The initiative follows reports of measles cases in the state, many of which involved individuals with incomplete vaccination records.
In the municipality of Sorriso, the Health Department is also conducting a multi-vaccination campaign for children and adolescents. Running through November 27, the campaign offers 18 types of vaccines, including those for polio, chickenpox, HPV, and meningitis. In partnership with the Rotary Club, the program includes a bicycle giveaway for participants to encourage the updating of vaccination records.
