Brazil legal experts debate judicial efficiency and digital transformation

Legal professionals and academics in Brazil are focusing on the modernization and accessibility of the judicial system. Recent discussions have centered on the themes of integrity, efficiency, and access to justice.

At a seminar series titled ‘O Judiciário em debate’, representatives from the judiciary, public defenders, and the academy discussed the impacts of digital transformation on the legal system. Participants addressed the need for a justice system that is not only efficient but also accessible to all sectors of society.

In parallel, legal discourse is increasingly addressing the role of artificial intelligence within the judiciary. Ilan Presser, a counselor for the National Council of Justice (CNJ), has emphasized that the challenge for the 2026-2028 biennium is to modernize the system through technology while ensuring that justice remains intelligible, predictable, and human-centered.
