Brazil mandates judicial permits for child influencers on social media

Brazil's new ECA Digital law requires social‑media platforms to suspend accounts of child influencers who generate revenue without a court‑issued permit. Meta has already blocked a profile with more than five million followers for breaching the rule.

The National Justice Council (CNJ) approved detailed guidelines for judges to grant these permits, creating a national registry of alvarás and obligating the Public Prosecutor's Office to oversee each case. The regulations specify permit validity of one year for children and 18 months for adolescents, and they aim to protect minors' health, education and earnings from online activity.
