Brazil manufacturing revenue falls 2% in July
Brazil's manufacturing industry saw a 2% decline in revenue in July compared to the previous month, according to data from the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). Over the first seven months of the year, revenue has decreased by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2025.
Economic factors such as high interest rates and increased household debt are cited as primary drivers for the reduced demand for industrial goods. Despite the drop in revenue, industrial employment saw a slight monthly increase of 0.2%, and the total wage bill rose by 0.2% in July.
Operational indicators show that the utilization of installed capacity (UCI) remained relatively stable, moving slightly from 77.3% to 77.4%. However, looking at the cumulative data from January to July, hours worked in production fell by 1% and capacity utilization decreased by 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.
