Brazil men's volleyball team called up for South American Championship
Coach Bernardinho has called up 16 players for the Brazilian men's national volleyball team to begin preparations for the South American Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 20 at the Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro.
Winning the South American Championship provides a direct qualification spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The competition will feature six teams—Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and Venezuela—competing in a single group under a round-robin format.
Before the championship, the squad will embark on an international tour. This includes friendly matches in Japan, participation in the FIPAV Cup Men Elite in Italy (competing against Italy, Cuba, and Germany), and friendly matches against France in Paris. Lukas Bergmann returns to the squad following recovery from a back injury.
