Brazil Ministry of Education announces educational programs
The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC), through the National Fund for Educational Development (FNDE), is accepting applications until Friday (11) for the accreditation of legal entities to produce accessible educational materials. This initiative, part of the National Book and Didactic Material Program (PNLD), focuses on Braille-Ink works designed for blind, low-vision, and deaf-blind students in public education networks.
Separately, details regarding the 2025 Student Financing Fund (Fies) have been outlined. The program continues to provide low-interest financing for low-income students to attend private higher education institutions. Eligibility for 2025 includes a gross monthly per capita family income of up to three minimum wages and a minimum Enem score of 450 points. Priority is given to beneficiaries of the CadÚnico social program and persons with disabilities.
