Brazil extends Prouni enrollment deadline to July 12
The Ministry of Education (MEC) has extended the deadline for applications to the Programa Universidade para Todos (Prouni) for the second semester of 2026. Interested students must submit their online applications by 23:59 Brasília time on Sunday, 12 July, through the Portal Único de Acesso ao Ensino Superior.
More than 471,000 scholarships – both full (covering 100 % of tuition) and partial (covering 50 %) – are available for 380 courses offered by 879 private higher‑education institutions. To qualify, candidates must have completed high school, taken the two most recent ENEM exams, earned an average of at least 450 points without a zero on the essay, and meet income limits (up to 1.5 minimum wages per person for full scholarships, up to 3 minimum wages for partial). Quotas are reserved for people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and Black or mixed‑race candidates.
The selection timetable remains unchanged: the first‑call results will be published on 15 July, the second call on 5 August, a wait‑list will be opened on 26‑27 August, and the final result will be released on 1 September.
