Brazil Ministry of Education sets July 3 deadline for FIES enrollment complementations
The Ministry of Education (MEC) announced that the deadline to complete the complement of postponed registrations for Brazil's Federal Student Financing Fund (FIES) is Friday, 3 July. The deadline applies to students whose registration was delayed for the second semester of 2025 or the first semester of 2026. MEC issued Edital 45/2026 on 25 June, outlining the schedule and procedures; complementations must be entered through the FIES Selection system.
After submitting the complement, candidates must validate their information with the Permanent Supervision and Monitoring Commission (CPSA) of their institution within five business days, and then with a financial agent within ten days. Contracts can be concluded digitally or in person, depending on the agent’s availability. The FIES Social sub‑program reserves 50 % of its slots for families registered in CadÚnico with income up to half a minimum wage, allowing financing of up to 100 % of educational expenses. Eligibility for FIES requires ENEM participation since 2010, a minimum score of 450 points, and family income of up to three minimum wages.
