Brazil Ministry of Labor pays R$ 804 million PIS/Pasep bonus to 1 million workers

The Brazilian Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) has begun paying a complementary lot of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus for more than 1 million workers. The total investment amounts to approximately R$ 804.2 million.

This additional payment is the result of data reprocessing for the 2024 base year, following information sent or corrected by employers between September 1, 2025, and June 20, 2026. The review allowed for the identification of eligible workers who were previously missed and the adjustment of values for those already qualified.

The beneficiaries include 704,398 private sector workers receiving PIS through Caixa Econômica Federal, and 326,501 public servants receiving Pasep through Banco do Brasil. Benefit amounts range from R$ 136 to R$ 1,621, depending on the number of months worked in 2024.

To qualify, workers must have been registered in the PIS/Pasep system for at least five years, worked at least 30 days in 2024, and earned an average monthly salary of up to R$ 2,766. Funds will be available for withdrawal until December 30, 2026. Workers can consult their status via the Digital Work Card app or the Ministry of Labor website.
