Brazil multivacination campaigns report high uptake in several regions

Various Brazilian municipalities and states have reported results from recent multivacination campaigns aimed at updating immunization records, particularly for children and adolescents.

In Paraná, the State Health Department (Sesa) reported that 771,994 doses were administered between August 3 and September 1 across 399 municipalities. The majority of these, 494,531 doses, were given to individuals under 19, with 481,480 doses specifically targeting those under 15. Key vaccines included influenza, Covid-19, and routine immunizations.

In Porto Alegre, the campaign concluded with 78,961 doses applied across all age groups. Of these, 43,952 doses were administered to children and adolescents under 15. The total includes doses for influenza, dengue, and Covid-19.

Other regional efforts include Porto Velho, which expanded access through the ‘Dia D’ initiative in urban areas, districts, and remote communities to reach families with incomplete vaccination schedules. In Rio Branco, the campaign applied 13,667 doses, reaching 6,687 people, primarily focusing on those under 15 years of age.
