Brazil Chamber of Deputies reviews social security and labor bills
The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies is advancing several legislative proposals impacting social security, labor rights, and public health.
In social security and labor, several bills are under review: one proposes that the INSS pay double to citizens if benefits are unjustly denied due to administrative error; another seeks to recognize maternal care as time toward retirement; and a third proposes changes to the BPC to allow mothers of children with disabilities to work without losing benefits. Additionally, a bill aims to grant a 180-day leave for workers following pregnancy or fetal loss, while another seeks to regulate special retirement for workers exposed to health risks.
Regarding health and social inclusion, the CCJC has concluded its review of a bill to regulate the professions of Indigenous Health and Sanitation Agents. Furthermore, a proposal has been approved to provide tax incentives for companies in border regions and indigenous lands that hire young people and indigenous populations.
