SEST SENAT extends free driver‑license upgrade program to July 21

The SEST SENAT Mais Motoristas program, aimed at professional drivers, will accept online registrations until 21 July. The initiative provides a free change of category for the National Driver’s License (CNH) to categories C, D or E and includes professional qualification courses covering defensive driving, hazardous‑goods transport, logistics and customer service.

Eligibility requires candidates to be at least 19 years old, hold a valid CNH, be able to read and write, have a CPF and not have more than one gravíssima traffic violation in the past 12 months. Priority is given to women listed in the CadÚnico system, followed by other CadÚnico beneficiaries, additional women and the general public; unemployed applicants with many dependents rank higher. The program covers costs such as medical and psychological exams, toxicology tests, practical lessons, vehicle rental for training and, when needed, the paid‑for observation of remunerated activity on the license.

Since its launch in 2023, Mais Motoristas has attracted more than 55 000 registrants nationwide, reflecting high demand for qualified transport workers. Selected participants will attend training at SEST SENAT’s Professional Drivers School before completing the required Detran examinations and receiving the upgraded license.
