Brazil offers free language courses in Amazonas and Acre

Sesc Amazonas announced that registrations are open for a free basic English course with 29 seats. The program targets commercial workers, their dependents, and public‑school students aged 14 or older whose family income does not exceed two minimum wages. Classes will begin on 25 July, run on Saturdays, and be held at the Sesc Centro facility in Manaus.

The State Secretariat of Education and Culture of Acre opened 1,130 free places for courses in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). Courses are offered both in‑person at centres in Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul and online for residents of numerous municipalities. Eligibility covers public‑school students from the 6th grade through the final year of high school, as well as adults meeting the required education level, with priority given to people with disabilities for the Libras class. Registration deadlines vary by modality, with online pre‑enrollment closing at the end of July and in‑person enrolment opening in early August.
