Brazil launches dozens of free online courses for digital and professional skills
The High Tech Course project in Brazil's Federal District opened registration for 24 free, fully online courses covering topics such as artificial intelligence, programming, design, game development, digital marketing and cybersecurity. A separate free online Introduction to Digital Design course is also available to residents of Brasília and the Federal District.
The Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes) announced the final day to apply for a free semi‑presential course on accounting and financial management for third‑sector organisations, targeting managers and volunteers in the state. In the state of Mato Grosso, the Cuiabá municipal government opened enrolment for free women‑focused training programs—including pastry making, elderly care and gel nail services—to help participants generate income.
The Institute for Regional Development (Cetic.br) released a Portuguese version of UNESCO’s free MOOC “AI and Digital Transformation in Government,” created with the University of Oxford, expanding access to public‑sector professionals worldwide. Together, these initiatives aim to broaden digital and professional qualifications for Brazilian citizens.
All programmes are offered at no cost, provide certification upon completion, and are delivered online or in short‑term in‑person formats.
