Brazil opens 2026 Prouni and Sisu+ enrollment for university scholarships

The Brazilian Ministry of Education announced that registration for the second semester of the Prouni 2026 program will open in July. The scholarship program will use scores from the 2024 and 2025 ENEM exams, require a minimum average of 450 points, a non‑zero essay score, no prior higher‑education degree, and meet income criteria for full (up to 1.5 minimum wages) or partial (up to 3 minimum wages) scholarships. The MEC has already published the institutions’ edital for private colleges to participate.

Separately, the Ministry opened registration for the Sisu+ system on the 15th of this month, running through the 19th, to fill additional spots for the second semester of 2026. Thirty‑four public universities are participating. Applicants must have taken an ENEM test in the past three years and have applied to the regular Sisu 2026 round. The platform allows candidates to select up to two course options and consult available vacancies in advance via a new online tool.
