Brazil opens final registration phase for Minha Casa, Minha Vida housing program

The federal Minha Casa, Minha Vida program is entering its final registration period in two Brazilian states. In Manaus, Amazonas, applications for the Faixa 1 segment close on 30 June. Prospective families can submit documents online via the Semhaf portal or in person at the municipal housing office, providing identification, income proof, CadÚnico registration, and other required paperwork. Priority is given to households without own property, low‑income families, women heads of household, people with disabilities, the elderly and those living in risk areas. The city reports that two residential projects – Morar Melhor 1‑3 and Morar Melhor 17‑19 – will together deliver 1 152 new apartments this year.

In Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, the Agehab agency is accepting applications until 26 June for the sustainable condominium prototype Manoel de Barros, the first eco‑friendly housing complex in Brazil. Eighty‑two families will be pre‑selected for the project, which features solar panels, water‑recycling systems and wall‑free unit designs to encourage community interaction. The draw is scheduled for 1 July, with the selection criteria mirroring the national program’s focus on vulnerable groups, including women heads of household, people of African descent, Indigenous and quilombola families, and those with health or housing insecurities.
