Brazil opens new Policlínica in Camaçari and expands mobile women's health unit in Votuporanga
The Policlínica de Camaçari in Bahia began operations less than a week after its inauguration, with more than 1,000 scheduled consultations and exams for local residents. The director, Juliete Martins, said the team was fully prepared to provide humanized, specialized care, stating, "ESTAMOS MUITO FELIZES EM INICIAR ESSA NOVA ETAPA. NOSSA EQUIPE FOI TOTALMENTE PREPARADA PARA OFERECER UM ATENDIMENTO HUMANIZADO..." Patients reported positive experiences with nutrition, obstetric, cardiology and ophthalmology services.
In Votuporanga, São Paulo, a mobile health unit from the Ministry of Health will remain at the Parque da Cultura until 31 July, offering women’s health exams such as mammography and various ultrasounds. The unit can handle up to 60 appointments per day and serves women from Votuporanga and 16 neighboring municipalities. Health secretary Ivonete Félix emphasized the importance of the service, noting, "Estamos ampliando a oferta desses exames e queremos que esse atendimento chegue às mulheres que já aguardam pelo serviço."
