Brazil's Bolsa Família July 2026 payments begin for families
On July 29 2026 Caixa Econômica Federal paid the July installment of the Bolsa Família program to beneficiaries whose National Social Index (NIS) ends in 8. The average amount transferred was R$ 679.19, with the program’s minimum benefit fixed at R$ 600 per family.
A unified payment was made on July 20 2026 for residents of 175 municipalities in six states – Amazonas, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima and Sergipe – regardless of NIS final digit, to assist communities in emergency or calamity situations. Payments are staggered by the last digit of the NIS, running from July 20 (NIS 1) to July 31 (NIS 0), with NIS 7 receiving its installment on July 28.
Beneficiaries also receive three statutory add‑ons: six R$ 50 installments for mothers of infants up to six months (Benefício Variável Familiar Nutriz), an extra R$ 50 for pregnant women and children aged 7‑18, and R$ 150 per child up to six years old. The “rule of protection” continues, allowing families that gain employment to keep 50 % of the benefit for up to one year (or two years if they entered the rule before May 2025). Since 2024 the program no longer deducts the Seguro Defeso levy from payments.
