Brazil police detain men for domestic violence and protective order breaches

Police operations in Brazil have arrested three men for repeated domestic‑violence offenses and violations of protective orders. In Apucarana, Paraná, a man identified only by the initials B H D P A was taken into custody on 1 July 2026 after a joint intelligence effort by the local intelligence agency (ALI) of the 10th Military Police Battalion and the 6th Independent Military Police Company. He faced charges of breaching a protective injunction under the Maria da Penha law, unlawful entry, injury and threat.

Separately, the national "Mulher Segura" operation led by the DEAM (Specialized Women’s Police Unit) resulted in two further arrests. In Boa Vista, Roraima, 22‑year‑old V S L was arrested after repeatedly ignoring a protective order despite wearing an electronic anklet, physically assaulting his partner and threatening to dispose of her body. In Curitiba, Paraná, 43‑year‑old T G J was detained for continuing to harass his ex‑partner and violating court‑ordered protection.

Both actions underscore coordinated efforts between state police forces and the judiciary to enforce protective measures and protect victims of domestic violence. "A medida protetiva é um instrumento criado para preservar vidas," said DEAM delegate Carolina Huppes, emphasizing the rapid response to offenders who disregard court orders.
