Brazil police detain men with knives in three separate incidents

Police in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, Pernambuco, arrested a 39‑year‑old man carrying a fish‑type knife after customers reported the weapon. The suspect, identified as Antônio José dos Santos, was taken to a municipal hospital for a medical examination before being transferred to the 17th Police Station.

In Ibotirama, Bahia, officers responded to a report of a man violating a protective order. The suspect was found with an illegally manufactured .38 caliber firearm, a licensed pistol, multiple knives, ammunition, a telephone and a signal‑jamming device. All items were seized and the man was placed in custody for investigation of illegal weapon possession and possible breach of the protective measure.

A separate incident occurred in São João do Ivaí, where a visibly intoxicated man brandished two knives in a public street after a dispute with his son. Police intervened, recovered the knives and a second knife from his pocket, and escorted him to a police outpost. He was released there after no crime warranting detention was established.
