Brazil police arrest suspects and seize illegal firearms in recent raids

Police operations across Brazil led to several arrests and the seizure of illegal weapons. In Maringá, a 39‑year‑old man accused of sexual harassment brandished a simulated pistol, prompting a fight that ended with his hospitalization for a head injury. In Dianópolis, authorities arrested a man for illegal firearm possession and uncovered a shotgun, telescopic sight and more than 160 rounds of ammunition. In Andradina, a 27‑year‑old woman was detained after police found a loaded Beretta pistol with eight cartridges in her home. The Special Operations Group in Botucatu seized a replica firearm and captured a wanted man during a probe of a condominium complaint. A stolen vehicle was recovered in Guaíra, linked to a scheme to smuggle cigarettes, and its driver was arrested. Separately, a woman in Itaipuaçu, Maricá, was stabbed in the head, underwent surgery and the suspect remains in custody.
