Brazil police detain workers after death threats at two workplaces
In Campo Novo do Parecis, a man employed by a recycling company was arrested on Wednesday night after being accused of threatening a coworker with death while apparently intoxicated. The victim reported that the suspect said he would wait for the colleague to fall asleep to "end his life" and sent threatening WhatsApp messages and photos aimed at the victim's family. Police located and detained the suspect, who was transferred to the local Civil Police station for further investigation.
In Marechal Cândido Rondon, a supervisor was violently threatened by a former employee who had been drinking beer on the premises. The assailant shouted, "Vou cortar seu pescoço" ("I'll cut your neck") and other menacing statements before fleeing the scene. The incident was reported to the Military Police, and the case was forwarded to the 47th Civil Police Delegacy for follow‑up.
