Brazil workplace violence incidents

Entities: Douglas de Souza Vieira · Bombril S.A. · Edvaldo Santos da Silva · TPC · TPC Logística

Overview

In July 2026 police detained workers at two sites after receiving reports of death threats against employees. The following month, on 1 August 2026, a 33‑year‑old subcontractor of logistics firm TPC entered the Bombril factory in the Rudge Ramos district of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, and stabbed three co‑workers—José Guilherme Victoriano de Moura (54), Edvaldo Santos da Silva (44) and Douglas de Souza Vieira (39)—who died at the scene. The assailant, identified as Claudio Henrique da Silva, was a temporary employee who reportedly suffered a sudden “surge” in stress before the attack. He was taken to the 2nd Police District, where he committed suicide while in custody. Authorities opened investigations into both the July threats and the August triple homicide, examining motives such as bullying. The Civil Police Corregedoria is probing the circumstances of the attacker’s death, while the DEIC homicide division continues to investigate the killings. Bombril, TPC Logística and other companies reiterated condolences, pledged full cooperation with investigators, and offered assistance to the victims’ families.
