Brazil police investigate disappearances of women in Sorocaba and Resende

Police investigations are under way into two separate missing‑person cases in Brazil. Cristiane Encide Ferreira vanished while walking to her shift at the Bom Lugar supermarket in Sorocaba’s Vitória Régia district. After 47 days, the last confirmed sighting was on 9 June at a guesthouse in Cachoeira Paulista, and no further leads have emerged. Her family continues to request public assistance.

In Resende, 29‑year‑old Ana Luiza Silveira Fernandes was last seen on the morning of 20 May after leaving her home in the Barra II neighbourhood to work at a convenience store. She has not returned, and her husband says she had been experiencing anxiety. Police have dismissed a circulating social‑media message as false and are urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
