Brazil poll blames Flávio Bolsonaro, Lula for US tariff push

A BTG/Nexus poll conducted between June 12 and 14, 2026 surveyed 2,017 respondents across Brazil. The poll found that 42% of those surveyed hold Senator Flávio Bolsonaro responsible for the United States' decision to impose new tariffs on Brazilian products, while 39% blame President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. An additional 11% attribute the tariff recommendation to an independent decision by the U.S. government.

The same survey also asked about the recent U.S. classification of Brazil's PCC and CV as terrorist organizations. Respondents were split: 37% said the designation would threaten Brazilian security, 30% believed it would improve security, and 23% saw no impact.
