Brazil prepares for Carnaval 2027 with new event details

Preparations for the 2027 Brazilian Carnival are underway, with key developments in Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro. In Florianópolis, the Carnaval Floripa 2027 event is scheduled for February 5, 2027, at the Nego Quirido Complex. Organizers are focusing on group-oriented viewing areas, or ‘frisas’, designed to allow families and friends to watch the parades together from close proximity to the avenue.

In Rio de Janeiro, the samba school Beija-Flor has selected its samba-enredo for the 2027 festivities. The theme will focus on Zeneida Lima, developed by carnival designer João Vitor Araújo. Beija-Flor president Almir Reis emphasized the critical importance of the samba-enredo, stating that a strong song constitutes approximately 50% of a successful parade. Reis also dismissed the notion that performing on a Sunday is a disadvantage for samba schools.
