Brazil Chamber of Deputies reviews bills for fishing and sports sectors
The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies is reviewing several legislative proposals aimed at strengthening specific economic and social sectors.
Bill 3194/26, authored by Deputy Roberto Duarte, proposes the creation of the National Program for Infrastructure, Safeguarding, and Processing of Continental Artisanal Fishing (Propesca-Infra). The initiative seeks to modernize physical structures used by artisanal fishermen, particularly in the North region. Key components include the Electronic Guide for Artisanal Fish Transport (GTPA) to monitor logistics, the establishment of municipal fish warehouses, and the creation of a Simplified Sanitary Seal (SSA-PA) to improve commercialization and sanitary conditions.
Separately, Bill 3491/26, authored by Deputy Laura Carneiro, proposes the establishment of a Sports Development Network. This system aims to integrate sports and physical activity with public policies in health, education, culture, and social assistance. The network would utilize local sports facilities as catalytic hubs and employ mobilization agents to promote inclusivity, particularly regarding gender, race, and disability.
Additionally, Bill 3039/26, authored by Deputy Pezenti, seeks to transform the Family Farming Price Guarantee Program (PGPAF) into federal law. This would provide greater legal security for small-scale farmers by guaranteeing a minimum price for products when market values drop below production costs, managed with technical support from Conab.
