Brazil pushes forward initiatives for women's health and child protection

The municipal chamber of Poços de Caldas announced that registrations for the third edition of the Parliament Women 2026 program close this Friday. The initiative, aimed at women aged 18 and older, will focus on women's health, mental health, and motherhood, offering training on legislative processes and covering transport costs for participants on the federal social register.

At the federal level, Deputy Marangoni (SP) advanced Bill PL 1653/2023, which would extend services of Women’s Specialized Police Stations to children and adolescents. The proposal, approved by the Chamber’s Public Safety and Social Welfare committees, seeks to ensure that minors accompanying victims of domestic violence receive appropriate protection and support. The bill now moves to the Constitution and Justice Committee before proceeding to the Senate and presidential sanction.
