Brazil child protection and women's health measures

In late July 2026 Brazil’s municipal governments began tightening child‑protection rules in schools. Nova Trento’s Education Secretariat expanded protocols for spotting abuse, training staff and routing reports through the 24‑hour Disque 100 hotline, while Natal’s council passed a law to introduce preventive campaigns, specialised training and clear referral procedures for sexual abuse cases in public schools and early‑education centers.

A few days later, the focus broadened to include women’s health and the protection of minors in domestic‑violence contexts. The municipal chamber of Poços de Caldas opened registrations for the third Parliament Women 2026 program, targeting women’s health, mental health and motherhood. At the federal level, Deputy Marangoni (SP) advanced Bill PL 1653/2023 to extend Women’s Specialized Police Stations’ services to children and adolescents accompanying domestic‑violence victims, moving the proposal toward Senate approval.
