Brazil records nearly 6 million international arrivals from January to July

Brazil recorded 5.87 million international visitor arrivals between January and July, marking the second-highest figure in the country's history. Data provided by Embratur, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Federal Police indicate that air travel was the primary driver of this growth, accounting for 68% of total arrivals with over 4 million travelers.

Air arrivals increased by 12% compared to the same period in 2025. Significant growth was observed in several strategic markets, including China (+64.5%), Colombia (+33%), Peru (+18.8%), Canada (+14.6%), Mexico (+11%), Chile (+4.3%), and Uruguay (+2.9%). Notably, Chinese arrivals in July nearly doubled compared to the previous year.

Conversely, declines were noted in visitors from Argentina (-15.2%) and the United States (-1.8%), while arrivals from Paraguay and Japan remained relatively stable. Bruno Reis, president of Embratur, stated that the country is experiencing a period of solidity in international tourism, noting that proactive international promotion helped offset the decrease in land-based tourists from Argentina.
