Brazil rolls out AI competency framework and training for public sector and industry
The Brazilian Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services released a national AI Competency Matrix to guide training for federal employees. The matrix outlines six public‑service profiles and eleven free, online programs covering generative AI, ethics, data protection, automation and governance. It links to the 2024‑2028 Brazilian AI Plan, the Federal Digital Government Strategy and the National Personnel Development Policy, aiming to certify up to 60% of government bodies in ethical AI use by 2026.
Separately, the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (ABIMAQ) opened registrations for its two‑day online course “AI for All,” scheduled for 15‑16 July. The program targets employees at all organizational levels, covering AI fundamentals, machine‑learning techniques, generative models and ethical considerations. The course costs R$ 510 for members and R$ 780 for non‑members and includes certification.
