Brazil rolls out July 2026 PIS/PASEP payouts and alerts workers to legacy fund balances

The federal PIS/PASEP program will make its July 2026 disbursement available to workers born in September and October, allowing eligible private‑sector employees and public‑servants to withdraw up to R$1,621. The schedule follows a month‑by‑month rollout that began in February for January‑February birthdays and will conclude in August for November‑December births. To qualify, a worker must have been enrolled in PIS or Pasep for at least five years, earned an average monthly salary of no more than R$2,766 in the 2024 reference year, and have worked a minimum of 30 days with a formal contract, with correct employer data reported to eSocial. Payments are credited to the Caixa Tem app or a Social Card for private‑sector workers and can be transferred via TED, PIX or withdrawn at Banco do Brasil branches for public‑servants.

Separately, the government warns that many former employees and civil servants who held formal jobs between 1971 and 1988 may still have unreclaimed balances from the extinct PIS/PASEP fund. These legacy quotas are distinct from the annual wage‑supplement abono and can be checked through the official Gov.br Repis Cidadão portal, which requires a silver, gold or platinum account. Heirs of deceased workers may also request the funds, provided they submit the necessary documentation. Officials stress the importance of using only official channels to avoid fraud.

Workers can verify eligibility and balance information via the Gov.br portal, the FGTS app, or by visiting a Caixa branch.
