Brazil allocates R$ 13.5 billion to support exporters and strategic sectors

The Brazilian government has detailed the allocation of R$ 13.5 billion in credit lines under the Plano Brasil Soberano to support sectors impacted by international trade tensions and global conflicts.

Of this total, R$ 5 billion is designated for exporters and suppliers affected by increased US tariffs on Brazilian products. An additional R$ 3.5 billion will support companies exporting to the Persian Gulf region due to Middle East instability. The remaining R$ 5 billion is split among strategic sectors: R$ 2 billion for fertilizer production, R$ 2 billion for critical and strategic mineral chains, and R$ 1 billion for other relevant industrial sectors.

To further assist exporters, Provisional Measure 1.386/2026 extends the tax suspension deadlines for the drawback regime by up to 12 months for companies proven to be affected by US tariffs.

In the agricultural sector, the National Monetary Council (CMN) has approved a resolution to facilitate rural debt renegotiation. This measure allows banks and credit cooperatives to use up to 40% of mandatory rural credit resources to settle or reduce debts originally contracted through other financing sources, aiming to overcome previous regulatory bottlenecks.
